As 10 freshmen took to the court in Gym B this evening, it might not
appear to be anything out of the ordinary at first glance. However, this
was no ordinary pick up game. This was intramural playoff basketball.
Single elimination, go big or go home. As I looked around, I was
inspired to see a handful of RA's and dozens of freshmen who had all
come out to support their residents, their friends, and their hallmates.
From the opening tipoff, the energy of the game was high, with one team
taking an early lead as the second fought for their lives in this
playoff series. Ultimately, the second half did not disappoint -- a back
and forth 20 minute struggle led us to a final score of 42-34. At the
end of the day, I'm just glad to have the opportunity for friendly
competition. This week concludes the quarterfinals for Recreational
league play. Stay tuned next week for the semi finals! More fun games
are certain to come.
